Uche Fuels Comfortable Crystal Palace Triumph at Shelbourne.
Despite embarking on their first-ever European adventure, Crystal Palace are learning very quickly. Missing key players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a commanding result that all but guarantees them a spot in the Conference League playoffs.
A further victory in their next fixture against Finnish KuPS ought to be enough to seal direct entry to the knockout stages, especially after a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Opportunity
This match provided a platform for several Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a second, scoring for the second consecutive succession.
A Shelbourne side that had concluded their domestic season proved no match against a largely second-string Palace lineup. The Londoners were further weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee problems.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still scope for improvement in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
